Citrix has provided a comprehensive Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop on Azure cost calculator to accommodate for the use case scenarios where XenApp and XenDesktop workloads are either deployed on-prem and MS Azure or entirely on the Citrix Cloud and MS Azure. You should first read the FAQ for more details: https://costcalculator.azurewebsites.net/faq.
After choosing one of the two major design options above, the calculator provides more configuration details. For the case of on-prem and Azure-hosted resources, the cost calculator provides the following options.
For the case of solely Citrix Cloud and Azure hosted resources, the cost calculator provides the following options.
The calculator can take into account the Citrix VDA and Citrix infrastructure components deployment profiles, as shown below.
It is useful to use the Citrix calculator to calculate Azure costs in each feasible scenario. In the latter scenario (with Citrix Cloud), Azure costs are obviously lower, as the VDA workloads are hosted on Citrix Cloud, therefore the Citrix Cloud per user per month costs should also be taken into account to calculate the final costs. It is also important to note that this calculator is currently based on pricing from Azure Pay-As-You-Go. If your organization has custom Azure pricing, you can edit the default rates from the following page: https://costcalculator.azurewebsites.net/ratecard
Update (Jan 2022):
Citrix has released the following article with updated information on DaaS pricing calculators: https://www.citrix.com/blogs/2022/01/26/daas-cost-citrix-calculators/.
