Microsoft recently announced that the Microsoft Partner Gold and Silver competencies will be retired on Sep 30, 2022. The recently announced ‘Solution partner designations’ will take effect starting Oct 3, 2022. You should visit the Microsoft Partner portal at https://partner.microsoft.com/en-us/dashboard/mpn/program/solutionspartner/solutionareas/overview to check if you qualify for the new Microsoft Solution Partner designations.
Solution Partner Designations
Existing competencies, including the current gold and silver tiers, will be streamlined to six solutions partner designations – Business Applications, Data & AI, Digital & App Innovation, Infrastructure, Modern Work and Security. Microsoft provides the following descriptions for the new solution partner designations.
Business applications
As a Solutions partner for Business Applications, you demonstrate your broad capability to deliver solutions with Dynamics 365 and Power Platform.
Data and AI
As a Solutions partner for Data and AI you demonstrate your broad capability to help customers manage and govern their data across multiple systems to build analytics and AI solutions.
Digital and app innovation
As a Solutions partner for Digital and App Innovation, you demonstrate your broad capability to help customers modernize existing applications and build cloud-native apps.
Infrastructure
As a Solutions partner for Infrastructure, you demonstrate your broad capability to help customers accelerate migration of key infrastructure workloads to Azure.
Security
As a Solutions partner for Security you demonstrate your broad capability to help customers safeguard their entire organization with integrated security, compliance, and identity solutions.
Modern work
As a Solutions partner for Modern Work you demonstrate your broad capability to help customers boost their productivity and make the shift to hybrid work using Microsoft 365.
Partner capability score
The partner capability score measures performance, skilling and customer success.
Partner capability score (PCS) and badging
Solutions partner badge will be open for enrollment in October, 2022. Till then, you should make use of the existing Microsoft Partner portal section to track your current Partner Capability Score (PCS). You may continue to renew your current Silver or Gold competency membership until October, 2022.
