You have a Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops delivery site and your Citrix users need to have their local client time zone redirected into their Citrix desktop session, instead of the (default) session time, which is the Citrix VDA server timezone. This KB article provides guidance on how to configure Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops time zone redirection. The assumption made in this article is that you are using a multi-user operating system VDA (Windows 10 multisession or Windows Server). Solution #
To configure Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops time zone redirection, carry out the following steps.
- Enable the following domain Group Policy (Allow time zone redirection) and link the corresponding GPO to the AD OU containing your Citrix VDA servers. The policy is located in GP path "Computer Configuration - Policies - Windows Settings - Administrative Templates - Windows Components - Remote Desktop Services - Remote Desktop Session Host - Device and Resource Redirection. Bear in mind that this policy is also offered as a user policy, instead of a computer policy. The user policy version may not work if you are using a multi-session operating system on the Citrix VDA servers.
- Enable the following Citrix policy (the below example policy name is TimeZoneRedirection_Client), either from within the Active Directory Group Policy Management Console (GPMC) or from the Citrix Studio console.
The policy setting must be set to value "Use client time zone", as shown below. The default value is "Use server time zone, also known as the Citrix session time.
The Citrix policy should be assigned to all objects in your delivery site or to specific delivery groups or users, as per your design.
