Hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) is a software-defined IT infrastructure which virtualizes all layers of a conventional IT infrastructure (compute, networking and storage). Under the term HCI one can classify hypervisors, software-defined networking (SDN) and software-defined storage or (SDS).
