You need to install or upgrade Powershell and Powershell core in Windows operating systems.
In order Windows operating systems first download and install the latest version of the Windows Management Framework (WMF).
In recent versions of Windows, Powershell 5.1 is installed by default with the operating system. The Powershell core needs to be manually installed.
Also in Windows 10 which supports the Microsoft App Store, you can install the Microsoft Terminal app, which supports Powershell core alongside Linux bash if the WSL component is installed and Azure CLI.
